BAPSCARCARE Silicone gel with UV protection
BAPSCARCARE Silicone gel with SPF40 contains medical silicone that reduces moisture loss from the scar. This ensures that scar complaints decrease and the scar becomes less visible. In addition, this silicone gel contains sun protection factor 40. This protects the scar against harmful UV radiation.
Scars are sensitive to the sun. There is an increased risk of permanent discoloration and skin cancer due to exposure to UV radiation at least 1 year after wound closure. In places where it is difficult to cover your scar (for example your neck, face and hands), it is important to properly protect the damaged skin.
Due to the addition of UV protective ingredients, this gel is white in color.
Instructions
- Apply well in advance before sun exposure
- Reapply regularly (every 2 hours). Especially after swimming, sports and drying the skin.
- Avoid the intense midday sun (between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.)
- Wear clothing that covers the skin, for extra protection: hat, T-shirt and sunglasses.

Sun protection factor SPF 40
Sunlight can be both healthy and dangerous. There are two types of sunlight: UVB and UVA rays. Too much UVB exposure can cause sunburn, while too much UVA exposure can speed up skin ageing and lead to sun sensitivity and dark spots (like pregnancy mask and blemishes). Both types of rays can damage cellular DNA and may contribute to skin cancer over time. Scars should always be protected from the sun. BAPSCARCARE gel SPF helps prevent or treat scars while shielding them from harmful UVA and UVB rays.
For how long should I use BAPSCARCARE gel SPF?
It takes at least 3-6 months for a scar to normalise.
Use BAPSCARCARE gel SPF as long as the scar is elevated, red or causing any symptoms.
Consult your therapist/doctor on the duration of the therapy.

Keep out of the reach of children.
Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
The silicone gel is only suitable for external use.
Use the silicone gel only on healed, closed skin (after the scab has disappeared) and never on open wounds.
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.
Do not use if the packaging is damaged on receipt of the product.
The expiry date is stated on the packaging.
Can be kept for a maximum of 6 months after opening.
Store at room temperature or at least not at temperatures higher than 25ºC.
