Aloe Vera is a plant with a natural effect. The plant is packed with proteins, vitamins and minerals. Therefore, the gel is used to treat wounds, including burns. It helps reduce and prevent scars and complaints.
The juice from the plant hydrates the deepest layers of the skin. Many active ingredients ensure that your wound heals better and that scars are prevented.
You often hear it in TV commercials: 'Contains Aloe Vera!' Although that in itself is not a lie, the effect of those products is often negligible. This is because freeze-dried juice is used.
By freeze-drying, the juice loses essential components, and therefore also its effectiveness. Why do they use freeze-dried granules and not the pure juice? Because the granules are simply cheaper.
Even if the product claims to contain '80% Aloe Vera', you should be wary: usually, only a small amount has been used. The claim refers to the concentration of the ingredient, of which only a small amount is usually included in the product.
Alhydran contains 45% pure Aloe Vera gel and is therefore the most important ingredient. You can easily check this yourself: the ingredient with the highest concentration must be mentioned first on the label. At Alhydran this is indeed Aloe Barbadensis leaf juice (Aloe Vera gel from Aruba).
Compare that with labels on products you get at the drugstore or supermarket: there the plant is only mentioned much later and water is usually the most important ingredient.
Barbadensis miller is the only Aloe plant with a high effect.
There are many different types of Aloe plants. Alhydran contains the juice of the Barbadensis miller: a species that grows in Aruba. Due to the extreme climate of Aruba, the plant is not 'spoiled' with water. The concentration of active substances is therefore much higher than in plants that grow in a more watery climate.
The juice is processed directly from the plant into Alhydran within 2 days in a medical environment without drying. As a result, no ingredients are lost and the scar cream retains its powerful, moisturising effect.
